The Economic Value of Capture Fisheries Service from Coral Reef Ecosystem on Kelapa Dua Island

Coral reefs are critical ecosystems for coastal and marine biota interaction. The coral reef ecosystem on Kelapa Dua, Seribu Islands, is in poor condition with a low live cover. This decreases fishery productivity, as the habitat nursery ground fish biota. problem this research how to increase percentage of cover Dua Island, so fishermen do not have further other islands. study aims analyze economic value direct use capture fisheries services from Island. method used calculate Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) at depth 5 meters along 50m three locations. data collection an accidental sampling questionnaire 30 out 50 market approach. results indicate that valuation Island per year IDR 394,800,000/US$ 25,165 (1 USD=15,688 IDR) coverage 12.45%. contributes 2.5% entire Kepulauan National Park. can be increased by increasing diversity types catch, biomass selling price catch.
